Sorry, Jack. I needed to reblog this.
The thing about Samifer and Soulless-Sam, too, is that he could have totally played them the same, but he didn’t
Try putting a scene of Lucifer played by Mark and one played by Jared side by side. They are almost scarily similar. Jared really went the extra mile to actually portray the character of Lucifer, rather than just ‘Jared playing Lucifer’.
The same with when Sam was possessed by Meg. You can really see that it’s the same character, just in Sam’s giant body.
Another thing. He made a comment about how he acted when they were doing the episode “The French Mistake” in which he had to play Sam playing Jared playing Sam,
and his comment was along the line of “Having to think like your character” and how it was a bit challenging in that certain episode because he had to do the opposite of that to act badly or superficial.
And then those who call him a “one-trick” pony because he’s been pulling the same techniques over and over need to stop. They obviously can’t tell the differences between Soulless Sam, Sam, Meg Sam, and Lucifer Sam.
Also Tortured in Hell Sam, which had one episode.
I think people don’t focus on Jared’s acting because I guess they just don’t focus on Sam’s character. They feel he’s just one of those tag along characters that would rather be killed off than keeping him around, which
if you truly believe that
there’s really no reason to watch the show, since it’ll always revolve around Sam and Dean, and sometimes the third major character, who Castiel has been for a good while now.
